WILL Talks GAMES: Tales of the Abyss

TALES OF THE ABYSS

I am far from an emotional person; I can go to funerals, listen to sad music, and have things die before my eyes, and while I may get sad, I don't show it that well.  I don't cry, I don't blow my nose - none of that.  I think it's because I usually take things at face value; if no detail or briefing of any kind regarding the tragedy is thrown at me beforehand, then I guess I feel like I have no reason to be sad.  At least, I guess that's how it goes.  I still don't really understand my psyche in that department.

This game, though - this piece of software that's simply made to convey a story - this game has welled up more emotions in me over the past three weeks of playing it than I've really felt in the past year.  Tales of the Abyss for Playstation 2, and most recently, re-released on the 3DS, is among one of the most powerful stories I've ever witnessed, and is among the most elite of all RPGs I've ever played.

WILL talks GAMES - The Twisted Tales of Spike McFang

THE TWISTED TALES OF SPIKE MCFANG

Happy Halloween, everyone! And to celebrate such an occasion, I'm here to talk about a quirky, underrated gem on the SNES: The Twisted Tales of Spike McFang. Before I even begin with talking about this neat little game, I'm dying to bring this up: Did they really have such a retarded game...naming team, that they couldn't even come up with a better name than that? I mean, it gets the point across, but the name could've been more catchy and WAAAAY shorter. What a bunch of crap.

WILL Talks GAMES - Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood

SONIC CHRONICLES: THE DARK BROTHERHOOD

Yeah, this obscure game is what I'm talking about right now. It's bad enough that I can't even watch anything Sonic-related on Youtube anymore without having to read sissy fanboy comments about the series, but I even have to hear people bitch about how terrible this game was! Y'know what? I liked this game. It's challenging, got some nice visuals for what they had to work with, the music itself was low-quality, but catchy enough, and I must say that I was impressed with the writing. I can see why people don't think it's the next Tales of the Abyss or Final Fantasy, but it's not a bad game. I won't go into particulars or anything, but a review score from me would garner a solid 7/10. Not a masterpiece of a game, but  humble experience that will sorta trail ith you, causing you to remember it from time to time and remind yourself, "Oh yeah, that was a pretty cool game".
